About GUPS

The Genitourinary Pathology Society (GUPS) was formed in September of 2018 with the vision of advancing the care of patients with urologic diseases through enhancements of best practices, research, and education in the subspecialty of Urological Pathology.
GUPS is an official Companion Society of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).

Our Mission 

The mission of GUPS is to promote:

  • Worldwide education of the advances in the discipline of Urological Pathology to practicing community and academic pathologists and allied professionals
  • An evidenced-based approach inclusive of a broad spectrum of the society membership to discuss and promote best practices in the field
  • A platform for networking of Urological Pathologists that fosters inter-institutional and international collaboration and research
  • Incorporation of modalities into clinical practice that empower the specialty, including molecular techniques, artificial intelligence and computational methodologies, to engender better understanding of disease pathways and enhance diagnosis, prognostication, prediction and prevention
