Message From the President

Dear members,

This spring brings exciting news and renewed energy for the Genitourinary Pathology Society (GUPS). As one of the GUPS founding committee members, I am honored to serve as President and very proud of what the society has achieved in only 7 years under great leadership (Kiril Trpkov, Ming Zhou, Rajal Shah), by advancing the field of urologic pathology nationally and internationally, providing excellent educational activities and attracting hundreds of members from dozens of countries, in keeping with the organization’s mission and guiding principles.

As incoming President of GUPS, I am grateful for your continued support, contributions and dedication. I would like to thank all members who participated in the election process and take this opportunity to announce upcoming leadership changes.

I am very excited to introduce the newly elected members of the executive committee: Priti Lal (Treasurer), Jane Nguyen (Secretary), Rohit Mehra (Chair of Education Committee), and Maria Tretiakova (President-Elect), and our members-at-large: Stephania M. Bezerra (A.C. Camargo Cancer Center, São Paulo, Brazil), Christopher G. Przybycin (Cleveland Clinic, OH, USA) and Ankur Sangoi (Stanford University, CA, USA).

GUPS is a dynamic, innovative, international organization with the vision to advance the care of patients with urologic diseases, and the mission to enhance best practices, promote collaborative research, inspire, mentor and educate the next generations of pathologists, and foster innovation and practical approaches. To continue a successful pathway, our society needs strong, engaged and forward-thinking membership to CONNECT, EDUCATE and ENGAGE pathologists, clinicians and patients.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the executive members with any questions or concerns, or simply to share your ideas, suggestions and feedback.

I am looking forward to working with you all in the coming months.

Cristina Magi-Galluzzi – President (2025-2027)
